Interruptible Large Power Rate
APPLICABILITY:
Applicable to all member-consumers with multi-phase service with billing demands of 200 KW or more in six months in the calendar year preceding the billing month and to new consumers whose estimated demands are greater than 200 kW. The member-consumer must contract the amount of their load to be billed under this rate. If the member-consumer elects to interrupt less than 100% of their load, the member-consumer must also contract the amount of non-interruptible demand to be billed under this tariff. In any event, the member-consumer must contract for and be able to interrupt at least 100 kW during Access Energy Cooperative’s Billing Demand Alerts.
MONTHLY RATE:
Minimum Monthly Charge
$1.00 per KVA of installed transformer, but not less than $115.00
Fixed Facilities Charge: $115.00
Non-interruptible Demand
All kW of Non-interruptible Demand @ $11.69/kW
Non-coincidental Demand Charge:
All kW of Non-coincidental Billing Demand @ $10.45/kW
Coincident Demand Charge:
All Coincident kW Demand @ $5.40/kW
Energy Charge:
All kWh @ $0.0495/kWh
DETERMINATION OF BILLING DEMAND:
The billing demand shall be the maximum kW demand established by the member-consumer for any period of 15 consecutive minutes during the month for which the bill is rendered as indicated by or recorded by a demand meter.
DETERMINATION OF NON-INTERRUPTIBLE DEMAND:
The non-interruptible kW demand level contracted by the member-consumer.
DETERMINATION OF NON-COINCIDENTAL BILLING DEMAND:
The Non-Coincidental Billing Demand shall be the Billing Demand excluding the Non-interruptible Demand billed for the month which the bill is rendered.
DETERMINATION OF COINCIDENT DEMAND CHARGE:
The Coincidental Billing Demand shall be the maximum 15 minute kilowatt demand established during any Billing Demand Alert period which exceeds the Non-interruptible Demand during the current and previous eleven billing periods.
ACCESS ENERGY COOPERATIVE’S SYSTEM PEAK:
Access Energy Cooperative’s System Peak for each peak season is the Cooperative’s highest integrated system demand
BILLING DEMAND ALERTS:
When Access Energy Cooperative, in its sole judgment, believes that it is approaching a System Peak, Access Energy Cooperative shall notify the consumer in the form of a Billing Demand Alert. The notice shall be given to members at least 4 hours in advance of the alert period and shall specify the hours that the Billing Demand Alert is to be in effect. No more than 200 hours of Billing Demand Alert may be called in any calendar year. Alerts may be canceled at any time, even during the Alert periods. Once canceled, any remaining hours of the Alert period do not count toward the 200 hour maximum. There may be up to two Alert periods per day, and each period may last from a minimum of one to a maximum of six hours.
Special rules may be implemented for loads larger than five megawatts. These rules may call for longer interruption periods or other modifications to the limitations discussed above.
CHARACTER OF SERVICE:
Electric power and energy supplied under this schedule shall be alternating current, three phase, 60 hertz.
POWER FACTOR:
The consumer shall maintain a power factor at time of substation peak of not less than 95% lagging. If the consumer’s power factor at time of peak load is less than 95% lagging, the kilowatt charges for such period under this schedule shall be increased by 1% for each 1% by which the power factor for such period is below 95% lagging.
DUE DATE AND LATE PAYMENT CHARGE:
The due date for all bills is twenty (20) days after their deposit in the U.S. Mail with postage prepaid and is printed on bills. Non-receipt of a bill by the member-consumer shall not release or diminish the obligation of the member-consumer to make payment in full, including late payment charges, if any. When payment is not made by the due date, a late payment charge of 1-1/2% per month of the past due will apply. Payments received by mail that are postmarked on or before the due date but that are received after the due date will be accepted without late payment charge.
SALES TAX:
Sales tax will be added to the charges calculated under this rate.
