Change A Light

Take the Pledge and Receive 2 FREE CFLs!

Access Energy Cooperative announced its 2010-11 Change A Light Campaign, which will educate members about how using less energy at home and at work can help save money and help the environment by combating climate change.

The Change A Light program will feature giving away 2 free Compact Fluorescent Bulbs (CFLs) to each member who participates in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) ENERGY STAR® Pledge, which challenges people to take simple steps to save energy at home, at work, and in the community. Each member who stops by our office and takes the pledge will be awarded 2 free CFLs. The pledge is a form prepared by the Energy Star Change the World program, that, when submitted by the member, will be entered on the Energy Star website as a pledge to start saving energy.

In 2009, Americans, with the help of ENERGY STAR, saved nearly $17 billion on their energy bills and reduced greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to those from 30 million vehicles. Access Energy Cooperative members were a proud part of that campaign and saved well over our goals of 2,855,902 pounds of emissions and 1,541,505 kWh of energy and $ 224,906 in energy costs!

To participate, click here to fill out the pledge form, print it, submit the form online, and bring your printed copy to our office, or we will have forms available there to fill out as well.

Together, we can all make a difference.
