Congratulations! State Poster Contest Winners at the State Capitol
Congratulations to the winners of the 2009 Iowa Energy Poster Contest! Out of nearly 180 entries at the local level, thirteen winners received a $50 savings bond from Access Energy Cooperative, and their entries were forwarded to the state contest. At the state level three won a $100 savings bond and 12 received a ribbon as a finalist or honorable mention.

Thirteen students from southeast Iowa were chosen as Access Energy Cooperative Iowa Energy Poster Contest winners in a very tough competition this year. These students will receive a $50 savings bond from Access Energy.
The winning posters will now be submitted to the state-wide Iowa Energy Poster Contest for a chance to win a trophy along with a $100 savings bond at the state contest. Posters winning at the state level will be mounted on the Traveling Energy Art Gallery and displayed at events throughout the state.
The poster contest focused on two themes: energy conservation/efficiency and renewable sources of energy such as wind, biomass and solar. The contest was designed to enhance education of students regarding these very important issues to Iowa and the world.
