Don’t Put Signs on Poles

Placing signs or other objects on electrical poles is not only illegal, it is dangerous for linemen. Attaching nails, staples, hooks or wires greatly increases the risk of serious injury. When linemen climb poles, they wear protective clothing, boots and climbing gaffs. Anything protruding from poles can cause a tear in their protective clothing increasing the risk of electrocution and if their gaffs hit metal they can be deflected and fall off the pole.
