Programmable Thermostats Can Save You Money!

THANK YOU! I want to thank everyone who participated in our recent appliance survey. The data we collected will be used to develop cost effective programs to help us use electric energy more efficiently and save you money on your electric bills.
On my initial review of the data, one thing that surprised me is the limited use of programmable thermostats. Programmable thermostats can automatically adjust the temperature of your home at predetermined time settings. During the summer months you can have the thermostat adjust the temperature up a couple of degrees during the day and lower it in the evening. Likewise in the winter the thermostat will lower the temperature at night and raise it during the day. Programmable thermostats generally will pay for themselves in about a year making them a good investment.
