Ground Breaking on Spec Building in Crossroads Industrial Park

The ground breaking ceremony for the speculative building in the Crossroads Industrial Park in Mt. Pleasant was held Nov. 11. Access Energy Cooperative is the recipient of a $300,000 grant from the USDA Rural Economic Development Loan and Grant Program to support the construction of the new building. Access Energy is proud of its tradition of supporting economic development in Iowa and of our partnership it shares with the Mt. Pleasant Area Development Corporation to help foster projects such as this. Local contractors will be hired to complete the construction of the 50,000 square foot building, which will be manufactured by CECO Building Systems. Once the speculative building is sold, $300,000 of the sale proceeds will be placed in the cooperative's revolving loan fund to be used for future economic development projects in southeast Iowa.
