Long Time Director Passes Away
The Cooperative suffered a great loss on September 28 with the passing of Director Frank Hasenclever. Frank served as a director for twenty three years, beginning his directorship with the cooperative in August of 1983. Among our current directors, Frank had the most years of service to the cooperative. Frank served as President of the Board from 1992 to 1995. Frank also served as one of our directors on the Northeast Power Board. Frank was second behind Dwight Krebill for years of service among the current Northeast Board. Frank truly believed in the cooperative principles and was dedicated to seeing that the members benefited from their participation with the cooperative. Frank was a true optimist who always looked for the best in any situation and for the best in everyone. Frank’s leadership and friendship will be missed.
The cooperative’s Articles of Incorporation spells out how the vacancy on the board will be filled. Article IX, Section 5 of the cooperative’s Articles of Incorporation states that the remaining board members shall elect a member from the district where the vacancy exists. That individual will serve until the next annual meeting, where an election for the remainder of the term would be held. In Frank’s case, his term would have ended at the 2007 annual meeting, so the election will be for a three year term. The board acted at the October board meeting and appointed JD Stucker to fill this vacancy. JD is a past director of Access Energy Cooperative.
