Lomont Molding, Mt. Pleasant, and Cambridge Investment Research, Fairfield, were among 10 distinguished Iowa companies honored with the Iowa Venture Award by the Iowa Area Development Group (IADG) on behalf of Iowa’s electric cooperatives. Both companies were nominated by Access Energy Cooperative. Lomont Molding recently expanded its operation and now has over 100,000 sq.ft. of manufacturing space employing over 150 people. The company is a premier molder of both high pressure injection as well as structural foam plastics.
It provides engineering design, tooling, mold construction and repair services. Lomont Molding is truly a start to finish manufacturer with a secondary plant devoted to painting, finishing, assembly and packaging.
Cambridge Investment Research provides financial planning and investment support to over 900 financial advisors across the country. The Fairfield firm recently completed a 40,000 sq.ft. office headquarters on a 44 acre campus north of town. Cambridge Investment specializes in customer care with their nearly 200 associates on staff.
“Each year as we honor business leaders and entrepreneurs with the Iowa Venture Award we also thank these accomplished companies for their commitment to Iowa through capital investment and job creation,” said IADG President, Rand M. Fisher.
IADG is the marketing and economic development arm for 85 of Iowa’s rural electric cooperatives and municipal electric utilities. The 2007 Iowa Venture Awards ceremony was held at the Iowa Association of Electric Cooperatives’ annual meeting in Des Moines.
