Dividend Allocations
Look for your patronage dividend allocation notice in the mail soon! At the regular Board of Directors meeting in April, dividend allocations were set by the Board for the 2006 margins. You will soon be receiving notice of your portion of this allocation.
Once a satisfactory level of margins or profits has been determined, we as a cooperative, assign the rest of the margins to our members – that's you – according to the amount of purchases you made that year. Each member has a dividend account with the cooperative, and each spring these margins are assigned or added to those accounts. This is called assigning, or allocating, margins.
This year Access Energy Cooperative will allocate $489,280 and pass through allocations of $292,266 from our power supplier, Northeast Missouri Electric Power (NE Power), for a total allocation of $781,546.
When patronage dividends do become payable, they will be sent to you at the current address you have on file at the cooperative. Please keep your address current with our office to ensure that you will receive payment.
PAYMENT OF DIVIDENDS: In June, the amount of dividends recorded in these dividend accounts is reviewed, as well as the cooperative's current financial position, and it is determined by the Board of Directors whether or not to generate a dividend refund for the year. These dividend checks are then handed out to members at the annual meeting or mailed to those not attending.
