How Reliable is Your cooperative?

November 13, 2007
Access Energy Cooperative strives to deliver safe, reliable, affordable and environmentally responsible power to our members. AEC provides electric service to over 9000 meters and we work hard to ensure reliable electric service. In 2006, our reliability rate was 99.9799% service availability. Inspection and maintenance of our distribution lines and substations to determine any replacement and repairs needs plays a large role in our reliability.

On a regular basis, we perform pole inspections, meter testing, overhead and underground line inspections along with vegetation management to trim trees and shrubbery that could interfere with safe and reliable power delivery. Avoiding and preventing interruption of services is an ongoing effort to meet our yearly goals established with the Iowa Utilities Board, and that member-consumers count on.

“ We strive to meet the highest levels of standards in delivering power to our member-consumers. This plan reinforces our consumer-driven approach to powering the communities we serve,” says Robert Swindell, CEO and General Manager of Access Energy. “This plan is one more reason our member-consumers have to be proud of the exceptional level of reliability in our system.”

Reliable power is just as important to Access Energy as it is to you . While not all power outages can be avoided, the impact it has can be greatly diminished. In the event of an outage, it is very important to report service interruptions to ensure the problem is addressed by calling Access Energy 24 hours a day, seven days a week at 1.319.385.1580 or at our toll free number 1.866.242.4232.

At Access Energy Cooperative your power is our first priority.
