Take control and Save-New Ways to Save on your Bill

July 23, 2008
July 1st,  Access Energy Cooperative launched a new program to help members Take Control of your energy consumption And Save on your electric bills. A range of areas are offered to allow members to choose how you can save energy and reduce your bills.

Education
Access Energy Cooperative is sponsoring Doug Rye’s Home Remedies show on Saturday mornings on local radio stations for energy efficiency ideas. See page 6 for more details. Also, watch upcoming newsletters and your website at
www.accessenergycoop.com for free seminars on saving energy. Energy saving ideas will continue to be featured monthly in your newsletter and website, and the energy calculator  is available on www.accessenergycoop.com. Visit your annual meeting for brochures and information!

Lighting
One of the easiest and most effective ways to save energy without affecting your lifestyle is through energy efficient lighting. Changing five regular incandescent light bulbs to energy star compact fluorescents (CFLs) can save you up to $60 per year. Come to the annual meeting on August 5th and get free CFLs from your cooperative. Later this year, at our open house in the new facility, you can trade canned goods for CFLs that will be donated to charities for holiday meals.  Look for information on the “Change A Light, Change the World” program this fall too.

FREE Energy Audits
Free energy audits are available to Access Energy Cooperative members and propane customers, including a blower door test and infrared camera. You will receive an energy saving kit full of items to help make your energy consumption more efficient and a list of contractors who can complete the energy efficiency impovements. Rebates are available for weatherization and insulation suggested from the energy audit up to 50% of the cost with a maximum of $500. Call us today to schedule your free energy audit!!!
