Board Approves Loan for the Sky Factory

Access Energy Cooperative’s Board of Directors recently approved a $100,000 Revolving Loan Fund loan for The Sky Factory located in Fairfield, Iowa.

The loan is part of the Access Energy Cooperative Revolving Loan Fund which the cooperative has developed through grant funds received from the USDA for previous economic development projects. Once initial projects have been paid back to the cooperative, the funds become available for the cooperative to loan for new economic development projects.

Founded in 2002, and headquartered and manufactured in Fairfield, IA, The Sky Factory is an environmentally conscious organization working toward a goal of a zero carbon footprint. They have designed their current building as energy efficiently as possible and will be and implementing energy efficient improvements over the next several years.
                                                           

The Sky Factory has 28 full-time employees and 2 part-time employees and has out grown their existing facility. They have expanded into a new headquarters and manufacturing facility in the Fairfield industrial park where they create magical illusions of skies and landscapes for ceiling and wall installations. Their products come in a variety of sizes and shapes and are configured with various lighting options.

Access Energy Cooperative is proud to support The Sky Factory in their entrepreneurial endeavors. They are leaders in their community and in their environmentally conscious efforts. As their loan is paid back to the cooperative, the funds once again become available for the cooperative to support other economic development projects such as this.
