Because we own our own power plants and transmission lines, we are in control or our supply of power. Millions of dollars are spent annually to ensure electricity is there when you need it.
GROWTH
The population of rural areas is growing, which is a good thing for your cooperative and rural Iowa communities. Having more members means fixed costs can be spread out among more people and can lower the distribution cost to serve each member. Dedicated employees

LOCAL CONTROL
As a member of Access Energy Cooperative you are an owner of the cooperative and have a say in how business is operated through the election of your board of directors. This helps ensure your cooperative delivers the services you need.
Even though our country faces many challenges, we are thankful there is still so much goodness in America. Here men and women are willing to fight to preserve our way of life and our democracy.
As Americans, we are also thankful for the freedom of speech on which this country was founded. We have the freedom to express ourselves, whether it is at county courthouses, the state Capitol or at the cooperative annual meeting.
Let’s not take these things for granted. Be sure to say thanks this year when you count your blessings.
