Views Shared at Legislative Night

Access Energy Cooperative’s board of directors and staff met with Senator Fraise, and Representatives Heaton and Hanson to discuss the upcoming Iowa legislative session. We shared what the Iowa Cooperatives see as our issues: focusing on energy efficiency, the need for new generation facilities and the need for more research to address pending environmental issues.

The legislators shared their views of the upcoming session which will mainly focus on the state’s budget and the need to get the state’s economy moving upward. All agreed there are tough decisions ahead because the state is faced with major shortfalls in revenue.
