REC Day on the Hill 2010

Access Energy Cooperative joined cooperatives from across the state in visiting with legislators on issues concerning the electric industry. Some topics discussed included renewable energy, greenhouse gas emissions, what coops are doing for energy efficiency and safety education, and how proposed legislation could have a serious impact on consumers’ energy bills back home.

State Representative Dave Heaton sat down with Access Energy Cooperative Board Directors and discussed the legislation currently being discussed during this year’s session.

In the meantime, Gary Stevens, Access Energy Cooperative Member Service Representative, demonstrated the dangers of electricity in and around the home and farm. This safety demonstration is available to all 3rd and 4th grade students in the nine counties Access Energy Cooperative services.
