Your Account  |  Your Home  |  Your Business  |  Your Community  |  Your Coop Iowa Energy Poster Contest 2007 Poster Contest Winners First grader Pearl Krieger-Coble and sixth grader Tenley Perron have been selected as winners in the Iowa Energy Poster Contest at the state level. The students were among 13 winners in the local Access Energy Cooperative contest whose posters were forwarded to the state competition. Local winners each receive a $50 savings bond from Access Energy Cooperative and state winners receive a $100 savings bond. The poster contest focused on two themes: energy efficiency and renewable energy and was designed to enhance education of Iowa students regarding these very important issues to Iowa. The winning state posters will be mounted on the traveling Energy Art Gallery and used for energy education activities throughout the state. First Grade - Julia Pross (state finalist) and Pearl Krieger-Coble (state winner), Van Allen Elementary, Mt. Pleasant; and Cecelia Hemsworth (state finalist), Mt. Union Elementary, Mt. Union. Second Grade - Jaden Ruark, Great River Christian, Burlington; and Izabella Hind, Richardson Elementary, Fort Madison. Third Grade - Danielle Coffin (state finalist) and Heidi Patterson (state honorable mention), both from Salem Elementary School, Salem. Fourth Grade - Robert Pohren and Hailey VanZile, both from Salem Elementary. They both also received state honorable mentions. Fifth Grade - Erika Mardis, Hawthorne Elementary, Keokuk; and Kaitlyn Spieler, Salem Elementary. Sixth Grade - Elinor Krieger-Coble and Tenley Perron (state winner), Mt. Pleasant Middle School.
