Iowa Energy Poster Contest Winners!
First grade: Laura Hult and Mikayla Kruse-Meek, both of Mt. Pleasant
Second grade: Ashley Loving and Natalie Myers, both of Mt. Pleasant
Third Grade: Katie Benson of Winfield
Fourth Grade: Shelvie Waller of Mt. Pleasant
Fifth Grade: Cole Benson of Winfield and Sunny Meador of Mt. Pleasant
Each winner was awarded a $50 savings bond and their entries will be entered in the statewide competition for a chance to win a trophy and a $100 savings bond. The winning statewide posters will be mounted on the Traveling Energy Art Gallery and displayed throughout the state.
The poster contest focused on two themes: energy efficiency and renewable energy, and was designed to enhance education of Iowa students regarding these very important issues to Iowa. A primary goal of the program was to prompts students to consider ways of saving energy and producing energy with alternative fuels.
