Iowa Energy Poster Contest Winners!
Access Energy Cooperative Regional Winner Wins State Competition!
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa-- Chelsea Bown, a sixth grader at Sigourney Elementary School, was among 14 winners whose poster was picked for the 2005 Iowa Energy Poster Contest. Her poster was entered into the state contest after it was selected as a winner in the Access Energy Cooperative Poster Contest in February.
On March 29 judges from Cedar Falls Utilities, the Iowa Energy Center, Cornbelt Power, Waverly Light and Power and the Iowa DNR looked over 536 posters displayed throughout the University of Northern Iowa's Center for Energy and Environmental Education (CEEE) and picked 14 winners for the 2005 Iowa Energy Poster Contest.
Iowa students, in grades one through six, created colorful posters that demonstrated their knowledge of renewable energy or energy conservation/efficiency. Winners were selected based on accuracy of information, creativity and originality and color and effectiveness.
