Access Energy Cooperative is actively involved in partnerships with our area Chambers of Commerce and economic development groups providing assistance wherever we can for economic development efforts. The cooperative has been involved with the Henry County Industrial Development Corporation in the development of two spec building projects in the Crossroads Industrial Park, located on the edge of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.
Access Energy Cooperative has been recognized for our economic development accomplishments and commitment to our local communities and received the IADG Project Development Award for leadership and support provided to Mt. Pleasant Foods, a new food processing facility located at the Crossroads Industrial Park in Mt. Pleasant. Access Energy was instrumental in building the 50,000 sq. ft. spec building that Mt. Pleasant Foods purchased. The facility has now been transformed into the most advanced state-of-the-art food processing facility in the country and is located on the cooperative’s lines. The $7 million plant will ultimately employ approximately 250 people and process a variety of meats for brand name food companies.
A second spec building is currently available in the Crossroads Industrial Park, where the cooperative assisted in financial funding efforts by applying for a USDA grant that will enhance the cooperative’s revolving loan fund for further economic developments.
Sites are also available in the Crossroads Industrial Park located in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa off Hwys 27 and 34.
