Section 29 ALTERNATE ENERGY PROGRAM
29.1 Availability
Any members may purchase alternate energy from Access Energy Cooperative on a voluntary basis.
Alternate energy purchases are available on a first-come-first-serve basis based on executed contracts.
29.2 Effective Date
The program will become effective August 1, 2003. New contracts will be made available on a quarterly basis. Purchases will be contracted 90 days prior to delivery of billing for such alternate energy.
29.3 Member Classes Eligible for Participation
Blocks of alternate energy kwh are available to all rate classes of Access Energy Cooperative.
29.4 Level of Member Contribution
The blocks of alternate energy kilowatt-hours are available in the form of an additional fee to the member’s ordinary applicable energy rate, as set by the cooperative board of directors on a quarterly basis.
Charges for alternate energy blocks as agreed to will be added to the member’s regular energy bill on a monthly basis. Member contributions will be used for purchases that serve the utility system as a whole.
Sales tax and any other applicable taxes or fees will be added to the charges calculated under this rate.

29.6 Contracts
Members voluntarily participating in the alternate energy program must enter into a contractual agreement with Access Energy Cooperative to purchase a predetermined amount of alternate energy to be paid over a predetermined length of time. The terms of the contract may vary depending upon the terms and conditions experienced by Access Energy Cooperative through its power supplier.
